Learning Objectives
1.Demonstrate a clear course of action for COVID-19 screening, vaccination, and postvaccination testing in patients throughout their transplant journey based on updated awareness of current recommendations and possible immune responses to vaccination.
2.Facilitate informed discussions with patients about the risks of donor-derived COVID-19 infection and posttransplantation infection risks.
3.Incorporate new awareness about the multiple considerations of organ transplantation for potential transplant recipients who are not vaccinated for COVID-19 infection into my practice, ensuring that I am providing care in line with current recommendations.
4.Continue to monitor patients in the posttransplant period for COVID-19, proactively assessing the patients immune status at regular intervals.
