Learning Objectives
Learners will be able to define and differentiate among three common sleep disordersinsomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, and parasomniasbased on clinical presentation and diagnostic features.
Learners will be able to explain how sleep disorders uniquely affect older adults with chronic illnesses, including the exacerbation of comorbid conditions and implications for overall health and safety.
Learners will be able to evaluate three treatment strategies for sleep disorders and discuss their mechanisms, benefits, and limitations, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options.
