Define dementia, identify the different forms, and describe the 10 common early signs and symptoms associated with dementia
Distinguish Alzheimers disease and related dementias (ADRD) from the normal cognitive changes that occur with aging
Determine the most common forms of dementia and how they differ
Attribute the importance of early detection and diagnosis, and the factors that may create barriers
Analyze the different challenges that occur to the senses as a result of dementia
Analyze the different dementia behaviors through a lens of the sensory challenges the person with dementia is living with and identify ways to reframe these behaviors from a space of empathy and compassion
Integrate skills for more effective communication when working with a patient with dementia through an awareness of the sensory challenges that the patient may be experiencing
Integrate the role of diversity in effective care and identify the differing barriers faced by minority populations
