Demonstrate an awareness of the spectrum of adult IDDs and the need for providing accessible and appropriate preventive and long-term health care
Integrate new knowledge of communication skills and assessment approaches to better evaluate and treat health conditions in adults with IDD, being mindful of diagnostic overshadowing
Proactively address any existing stigma, discrimination or bias within your health care team and practice, and work to provide a welcoming environment for adults with IDD and their support professionals and family
Facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to care for adults with IDD that includes all members of the care team, including specialists, caregivers, and direct support professionals to provide holistic care and improve outcomes for adults with IDD
