Learning Objectives
To provide a framework (The Caregiving Years, Six Stages to a Meaningful Journey) through which participants understand the caregiving experience. Through this framework, participants understand that the caregiving experience evolves and changes over time. Because of this understanding, participants can create programs and services which meet the changing needs of family caregivers.
To provide participants with skills and techniques so they can work effectively with family caregivers, who are often going through the worst experiences in their lifetime.
To educate participants about common challenges they may encounter as they work with family caregivers and to arm them with tools to manage these challenges.
To minimize the regrets family caregivers will have after their caregiving ends by sharing solutions, ideas and resources which help and support the family caregiver throughout their experience.
To offer participants the knowledge and resources to effectively work with family caregivers who may be experiencing compassion fatigue.
To empower participants with skills, tools and knowledge to help family caregivers navigate The 17 Caregiving Systems
To arm participants with strategies to help family caregivers mange conflicts and disputes
