Learning Objectives
1.Understand the pathological features of non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis (NCFB) and reasons for its rapidly growing prevalence in the U.S.
2.Recognition of a distinct subtype (phenotype) called Bronchiectasis/COPD Overlap Syndrome (BCOS). These patients have worse outcomes and critically important airway clearance needs.
3.Describe reasons for inadequate recognition of both Bronchiectasis (BE) and BCOS.
4.Understand that Bronchiectasis is often undertreated as well as underdiagnosed.
5.Recognize the critical role of airway clearance therapy in optimal management of Bronchiectasis and Bronchiectasis/COPD Overlap Syndrome.
