Adopt an approach to care that recognizes the unique mental and physical health risks experienced by LGBTQ+ individuals and address any disparities in health care that I recognize in my practice and in the practices of my health care team.
Increase cultural competence through improved sensitivity, communication, language, and awareness, and avoid assumptions of sexual orientation and gender identity.
Use sensitivity and respect when performing the clinical assessment and physical exam for an LGBTQ+ individual.
Thoughtfully document LGBTQ+ individuals medical and personal health issues so that health concerns, risks, and screening recommendations are clearly and respectfully stated.
