Learning Objectives
Attendees will gain knowledge of the mission and functions of the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission and how each is accomplished through the different Divisions of the Commission.
Attendees will increase awareness of the impact of generational diversity on case management.
Attendees will learn of the tools and programs used in Colorado for managing opioids and marijuana in the workers' compensation arena and will be able to compare and contrast with Arkansas cases.
Attendees will see and hear Sergeant Jones describe his catastrophic injury and his remarkable recovery and return to productive work activities.
Attendees will learn of the most common foot injuries, treatment options and overcoming issues with returning to work.
Attendees will gain knowledge of OSHA requirements and how to meet those requirements while reducing injuries and reducing costs.
Attendees will be able to describe what TMR is and why it is used for upper limb amputees. Attendees will be able to differentiate upper limb prosthetic use and ability with/without pattern recognition. Attendees will be able to utilize the information proposed in the case study and apply the data to construct a systematic line of questioning for the purposes of collaboration with the healthcare providers and predicting care needs over a lifetime.
Attendees will be able to recognize the challenges of various employment issues and their relationship to workers' compensation cases.
Attendees will increase awareness of the issues related to opioid medications and viable alternatives for treating pain in workers' compensation patients.
Attendees will gain knowledge of the adjudication process for Arkansas workers' compensation claims.
