NCCI Oklahoma Update: Stephanie Paswaters will present information gathered by the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) for the state of Oklahoma. NCCI gathers data, analyzes industry trends, provides objective insurance rate and loss cost recommendations, and key insights. These activities, combined with a comprehensive set of tools and services make NCCI a trusted source for workers compensation information. This session will focus on countrywide and state specific regulatory trends in Workers Compensation including: Proposed/Enacted State and Federal Legislation, System Cost Driver, and NCCI research and publications.
Civil Monetary Penalties: Sid Wong will be presenting on section 111 Civil Monetary Penalties, MSAs and Medicare set-asides. Appeals: Commissioner Scott Biggs leads a discussion on 85A O.S. 2(9)(b)(5) with the goal of providing further clarification and address the confusion surrounding this section of the law. A Better Life Than Mediation: Legal mediators Jacque Dean, Dana Dish, Brad McClure, and Bryce Hill will lead a discussion on the Oklahoma Workers Compensation Commissions Mediation program.
