Learning Objectives
1.Explain and classify the epidemiology of neck pain and describe common musculoskeletal causes, including cervical strain, spondylosis, discogenic pain, whiplash, and myofascial pain.
2.Describe and differentiate common neck pain presentations based on patient history, physical examination findings, and diagnostic tools, and recognize red flags that indicate the need for urgent evaluation.
3.Summarize and explain evidence-based treatment approaches for acute, subacute, and chronic neck pain, including pharmacologic, nonpharmacologic, and multimodal strategies.
4.Describe and explain nerve conditions that may be associated with cervical spine injuries.
