Learning Objectives
1.Identify the six functions of the behavioral health role: care management, educating, investigating, preventing, mediating, and advocating.
2.Develop strategies for attention/affirmation/active listening, assessment, behavior management, building relationships, teamwork, and redirection.
3.Compare and contrast knowledge deficits, organizational barriers, personal maltreatment, and frustrations that may increase potential for aggressive behaviors.
4.Develop skills in crisis intervention techniques to effectively manage potentially dangerous situations or emergencies that may arise within a behavioral health setting.
